Big Red Catskiing Adventures in Rossland, British Columbia is where you find powder! With 18,900 acres of some of the best tree skiing and glades in the world, you are in for some fun. Fresh tracks, deep powder, and no lines… need I say more? Check out Big Red Cats for more powder info!

The town of Rossland, in the Kootenay Rockies of BC, is all about lifestyle. You can hit Red Mountain and Big Red Cats for amazing skiing and riding. No lines at these places, just powder and smiling faces. The area is rich with history and you really start to feel a connection with mountains when you spend some time here. The locals say “a big mountain with a small town feel” and I agree. Oh, and did I mention they like to have a good time? See this video that shows Winter Carnival in Rossland and some others about hitting the Kootenay Rockies Region.

The Adams River sockeye run is known around the world as a miracle of nature. Sockeye salmon that have lived for four years in the Pacific Ocean make an epic 400km journey back to the streams where they where born. Their bodies change colour from silver-blue to bright red as they reach the spawning grounds. Many are caught or die along the way, but astonishing numbers reach their destination. How many are expected to make it back to the Adams River in 2010? More then 2 million!

So make sure to check out the "Salute to the Sockeye Festival" in Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park near Chase, BC in October to view the incredible wildlife spectacle. You may even spot a black bear having a salmon lunch! More videos at: http://chriswheeler.ca

Headed up to Tofino, BC on Vancouver Island to escape life's worries and enjoy the surf. The Ocean is a healer, and there is nowhere better in Canada then Tofino to relax on the beaches and lose yourself in the surf.

During a trip through the Thompson Okanagan in British Columbia, I took the jet boat for a rip on Lake Okanagan. It's a great summer time place to go boating and make a splash!

Windsurfing in Vancouver, British Columbia! When the wind picks up, Vancouver is a great place to hit the water for a sail or windsurf... and that is exactly what I did on a windy fall day at the end of September! I must admit there is nothing like strapping the board to your car roof rack, driving to Jericho Beach, and ripping across the Ocean waters of Burrard Inlet looking at the amazing views of Vancouver and the North Shore Mountains. Talk about having it all... and in a couple of months we will be skiing too! Beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia has it all!

Tip: If you don't have your own gear... no worries!
Windsure Adventure Watersports by the Jericho Sailing Centre rents windsurfers or even a paddle boards!
