Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests at super-fast speeds… and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs. (Toshi Kawano photo)

I paid a visit to the Aboriginal Pavilion in downtown Vancouver as well as the Bill Reid Gallery and the Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre up in Whistler where they received a surprise visit from the Governor General of Canada Michaelle Jean.

I was amazed at the incredible artwork and carvings, the intricate detail and the dedication of the craftsmen.  Everyone I met was had a wealth of knowledge and passion for sharing their culture.

The Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre in Whistler, BC is definitively a must see! Ghana's Olympic skier know as the Snow Leopard and Tourism BC Field Reporter Chris Wheeler explore the Aboriginal museum that showcases the local Squamish and Lil'wat First Nations through art and exhibits. They even sample some traditional food and join in on the Chief Jimmy Jimmy Dance! The Squamish and Lil'wat hosts are very friendly and the centre offers visitors a truly immersive experience of the two nations rich cultures.
