The Victoria Butterfly Gardens was wonderful, full of vibrant colours and flowers I have never seen before. The butterflys were amazing, every one a different size, a different colour, a different shape. One even landed on my mom. Butterfulys are attracted to bold colours such as blue and bright pink so if you want to have a "pet butterfly" during your stay, you might consider easring some nice colours. One of my favourite parts was the flamingos. I named one Honkers because whenever I tried to take a picture he honked. I am 10.

A new way of entertainment in Victoria was created a couple of months ago: Improv Everywhere Victoria.  Ben Dunsmuir, organizer, has been coordinating different kinds of pranks that leave the public wondering what is going on. This time Improv Everywhere Victoria, organized a slow motion fight on Bastion Square. About ten people met at noon and two of them started a loud argument to get people’s attention. When one of them seems to lose his patience and is ready to punch the other one, the entire fight becomes very slow. Then, the rest of the people join the fight making the entire scene more bizarre.

The people at Bastion Square were completely confused of what was going on. Some of them thought that the participants were actors or public performers, not even the clowns knew what was happening.

Improv Everywhere Victoria has been around for only two months, but their Facebook group keeps growing and engaging more and more people in the city. They welcome all kinds of people to participate in their random shows.

After the “fight,” participants gave some of their ideas to Ben for future shows. One of them was having a fake celebrity picture, where one of the members would pretend to be a famous person and the rest would try to get his/her autograph and a picture taken with him/her. To know more about Improv Everywhere Victoria, join their facebook group or visit their website.

The game of Manhunt is a variant of hide-and-seek. A group of people meet about every two weeks to play the game at different, but accessible, places in Victoria. This new tradition has been around for one year and has been celebrated by the community as a great way to make new friends and build relationships with different kinds of people. If you are looking for an adventure in Victoria, make sure you play the Game of Manhunt.

My friend a I decided to visit Hatley Castle and we were amazed at the infos that we got from the tour guide.  Because it is working castle, meaning that some rooms had been converted into offices, the only way to see the inside of this castle is by reserve a tour.  We took the one hour tour and our guide told us the history of the castle starting from the outside and we worked our way in to the upper floors and along the way we stopped and went in at some of the rooms and were told what each rooms was used for during the early years that the Dunsmuir occupied the castle.  Did you know that the whole castle was built in only eighteen mothns.

After the tour we had the privilege to walk around the Italian garden, as well as the rose garden and the Japanese garden.  We also saw a couple of peacocks walking about.  The whole outside surroundings was a peaceful place and I can just imagine how beutiful it was once during those early years.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Not only has Victoria experienced our first snow fall of the season (and possibly only), the beginning of December marks the start of Christmas seasonal celebrations at Butchart Gardens. I want to get out to Butchart early this year (we try and go every year as a family tradition) and view the wonderful display of lights enhanced with a snow frosting. I'm especially looking forward to trying out Butchart's newest addition, an outdoor skating rink! Carollers, twinkling lights, skating, hot chocolate, poinsettias and the search for the twelve days of Christmas! I'm definitely going to be in the Christmas spirit after this weekend!
