Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests at super-fast speeds… and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs. (Toshi Kawano photo)

We've reached our final destination on our northwest BC adventure - the beautiful city of Prince Rupert! After checking into the Crest Hotel and settling into our ocean view room, we set out to explore Cow Bay to find a spot to grab some dinner. We decided on Breaker's Pub, a place we had heard was known for great food and awesome wildlife sightings. We grabbed a table by the window, overlooking the ocean and surrounding mountains, and it was not long until we spotted our first bald eagle! Throughout the evening, we saw several more eagles, a hawk and even a seal playing in the water - they weren't kidding about the wildlife! For dinner I had some delicious panko breaded halibut and chips, and I was thoroughly impressed by the service and the overall experience of the evening. Then on our way back to the hotel, we walked right by a deer! My first evening in Prince Rupert was definitely a good one, with excellent food, stunning wildlife and great company. I can't wait to see what I'll discover in Prince Rupert tomorrow!

One of the most upbeat places to go to if you are only spending a short period of time in Prince Rupert is the Cow Bay tourism area.  Cow Bay is outfitted with picnic tables, cafes, restaurants and unique local shops.

While in Cow Bay, I visited two restaurants - Smiles and Cowpaccinos.  Both are local eateries and I suggest Smiles for families and individuals that are looking to experience fresh seafood in a variety of choices! The meal portions were great and the service was friendly!
Cowpaccinos is more of a cafe feel with snacks and warm and cold drinks being served. There is wireless internet at Cowpaccinos, as well as tables on the inside and outside to access the web.

Cow Bay is a must see for visitors of all ages and from every origin of travel!

After the Inside Passage tour of bears and whales, we docked around 7 and decided to check out some local cuisine. One of the guides on the boat directed us to a local pub with some great food. We ordered a mix of seafood and more traditional food, and every bit of it was delicious. They're well known for their battered halibut and cod which I was told was delicious. I can give you a first hand account that the Breaker's Club sandwich was amazing. The meal was accompanied by an awesome view of the harbour and great service!
