Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests...and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs.

Last night I decided to go with a friend to the drive-in movie theatre just west of Prince George. I know. It hardly sounds like blog-worthy material. Bear with me though, because there is something to be gained from knowing that there is a drive-in here. Firstly, the Park Drive-in Theatre in Prince George is, according to their website, one of only three remaining in the province. It is also one of the most northerly in the world. The rarity of such a treat may be lost on younger people who automatically associate watching a movie in a car with a built in media centre, but for those who are old enough to know who Ziggy Stardust is, it may come as a surprise. Indeed, the day where drive-in theatres were packed every weekend with old cars filled with teens eager to see the latest Dirty Harry installment is long gone, killed by cheap video rentals and movie channels and, more recently, internet video downloads. So why did I even bother going last night, when it would be easier to stay home?

1.  Sitting on the couch is boring and people do that too much anyway.

2.  It is cheap entertainment, with $9 getting you a double feature where at a regular theatre it would cost more for a single movie.

3.  Your car can hold significantly more snacks than you could ever sneak into the regular theatre, and you don't have to fight for cup holders.

4. You can adjust the volume on your car radio yourself rather than having your ears bleeding after a loud action scene, or being frustrated because you can't hear the actors talking.

5. The screen is approximately 263 thousand times larger than any flat screen TV you could afford or fit into your house.

6. you can laugh and make as many inane comments as you want, because nobody can hear you through the glass.

If you have not yet been to the drive-in, you really don't know what you are missing. Go see the latest sci-fi, or laugh your way through the most recent animated comedy. Just remember to start the engine every once in a while, or your battery will go flat like ours did and you will need to get a jump!

If you find yourself in Prince George and really want to see some theatre, Theatre Northwest is a really great opportunity. I have seen many plays here over the last couple years, and every single time I have left quite pleased as they put on some really amazing shows. They bring in professional actors from all over Canada and act some really amazing plays. Even if you don’t see yourself as a theatre person, I would recommend giving this theatre a shot because I don’t see how you could be disappointed. Time after time they have made me enjoy it and wanting to come back for more. I have checked out their new schedule for this coming year and they have many new plays which I hope to see a few of. Anyone else who may be interested I would definitely make the stop and check them out!

While one of very few still remaining not only in British Columbia, but in Canada, the Park Drive-In Theatre in Prince George is a historical masterpiece. These old drive-in theatres have long begun to be extinguished across Canada, but Prince George has been one of the few fortunate ones which are still around and in full operation. Viewers watch the movies on a massive 3200 square foot screen while you relax in the comfort of your own vehicle. While watching recently released movies on this giant screen I was able to have a huge selection of food, drinks, snacks and food from the grill in their concession. Definitely some great burgers and poutine! And of course you can’t go to the movies without your large bag of popcorn either! Earlier in the day I was able to play a round of 18-hole mini-golf and take a thrill ride through the go-cart track. I had endless fun and excitement here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great afternoon or night out at the movies!

If you're looking to experience a bit of nostalgia and want to have fun on a small budget, the Park Drive In Theatre in Prince George is for you!

This weekend we threw a couple of friends in the car and hit the drive in theatre to see two movies for the price of one! Movies start at dusk every weekend, but if you go early, you can play a round of mini golf or try out the great go-kart track before the movie. Oh, and come hungry - we picked up a couple of burgers and a huge bucket of popcorn (even though they claim it's their size small!) for a GREAT price!

The Park Drive In Theatre is one of only 3 drive ins left in BC. It's my favourite way to see movies in the summer, so come check it out!

My two little cousins dance for Judy Russell’s Enchainement School of Dance, so when I told my mother I was coming to Prince George to visit for the long weekend last Tuesday, she bought an additional ticket and she, myself and her friend Paula were off to the Prince George Playhouse to see The Who’s TOMMY: A Rock Opera.
It was a different experience than the ones I have had in the past (the cousins weren’t in this one, and there were only several familiar faces), this one was a musical, not simply a generous helping of exquisitely performed dances I was used to, but it was a great example of diversity, both in the performance format and the performers themselves. The technical aspects of the musical were incredible: the musicians were flawless, the entire company was well-synchronized and the effects at the beginning for the overture made it seem like watching a movie.
Having extensive experience in theatre myself, I was pleased to see such a smooth transition from dance to musical, and had a great time watching the performance. Watching a Judy Russell performance is one of the little treats I love about going home, and the original twist on the weekend was a welcome change of pace.

The Park Drive-In in Prince George BC privides an evening full of entertainment fun. Being one of only three drive-in movie theaters remaining in British Columbia, a unique experience is found during today's technologically advanced times. As a well-known hot spot of movie-going delight by Prince George residents, the Park Drive-In sees many vehicles lining up at its gates, which is 10km down Cheif Lake Road, during summer weekends.

Two movies are offered a night - the cost of which is less than a ticket to see one blockbuster at any big time movie theater. This weekend on my outing to the Park Drive-In, Night at the Museum: The Battle of the Smithsonian and X-Men: Wolverine were the nightly features. I got quite a few laughs and just as many thrills out of the experience. Not only is old-time movie going fun had at the Park Drive-In, go karts and mini golf are also available and a blast for both kids and adults. Go out early and hit up 10 minutes of go-kart fun and an hour worth of mini-golf and you'll be all ready to curl up with a blanket in the front seat for a couple great movies.

I very much enjoy myself every time I head out to the Drive-In. It's an old-fashioned night of entertainment that I love to partake in, and I encourage anyone from the area or travelling through it to experience it themselves.

Christina
