Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests...and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs.

A few months ago I was deciding to try a new thing with a few friends of mine that I had never done before – Paintball. Now this is something that I could really keep doing as a regular activity. I went to a place called Urban Combat Paintball in Prince George and had a great time. This is an indoor paintball facility, and it provides a really different experience to the outdoor game. I have now tried both indoor and outdoor games and I’m not sure which one I enjoy more. Urban Combat Paintball provides a great indoor experience, they are developing a outdoor course soon too, and really gets your adrenaline going. The indoor game in played in a much closer proximity to your competitors and really gets your thinking a lot more. You have to use your angles a lot more carefully to avoid getting hit, while also using many different shields and obstacles to block the path of incoming paintballs in your direction. If you want to feel the rush of paintball, then I really recommend heading to Urban Combat Paintball in Prince George and test the indoor game out for yourself.

Last Saturday, I dropped by the farmers market in downtown Prince George and was pleased with the amount of fresh baking and vegetables that the market offered (especially for this time of year in Northern BC).  All the vendors were very welcoming and happy to tell you about their business and products! The smell of home baked bannock fills the air downtown and you walk by hard to resist sweets and treats for you and the family! After going to the farmers market, I stopped into a restaurant on 3rd Avenue called Nancy O's. The breakfast menu was great and I recommend the Cinnamon Swirl French toast! Yum!! And definitely fills you up for the rest of the day! The restaurant is welcoming to families and I love the warm environment inside! The waitress was really friendly and made sure that we had the best experience at the restaurant!

Located approximately 50 kilometers North of Prince George is a well drained and natural water source lake.  The lake is stocked with several fish and the lake is also warm enough if you are interested in swimming or cliff jumping.  The lake is often busy with people looking to catch some afternoon rays and have a picnic with the great scenery.  I recommend this location for all ages, families or individuals.

Driving directions:  Continue on Highway 97 North and until you see a sign for Tallus Road.  Make a left onto Tallus Road and follow it over the railway tracks and around the corner.  You will see a bright yellow gate that is open, make a left on that road.  You can drive all the way down to the waters edge, or you can park and walk down.

One sunny Saturday morning, I had the pleasure to ride the streets of Prince George on little 50cc scooters. With places in the city that rents them from 1 hour to whole weekends (I had rented mine from Advantage Motors), it makes them much more accessible to locals and visitors. Because the engine in the a 50cc scooter is so small, you don't even need a motorcycle license to operate.

Once I had my scooter rented, it allowed me to tour the city streets with advantages that you would never dream of in a car. For example, I was able to park in the smallest of parking spots, closest to the Farmer's Market, whereas if I was in a car I would have to park at least 2 or 3 blocks away. And while a scooter may look like a nightmare to pack you goodies in, it has a surprisingly large amount of cargo room as well as a spot to place your bags at your feet. And while they don't go very fast, it is certainly a blast to have a leisure cruise around and do your Saturday morning errands.  Overall, if you have a chance to rent a scooter for a day, it is a highly recommendable way to travel. Your time will fly by and afterwards you'll wish you could spend just a little extra longer.

The weekend of June 27, 2009 was the Hit to Pass Extravaganza at the PGARA Speedway Park in Prince George, BC. This event boasted over a dozen vehicles of all shapes and sizes. The cars drove around and around the track, crashing and smashing into one another until they couldn’t run anymore. At this point the pushercar had to shove them into the pit to be fixed. Parts were flying everywhere, so much so the track had to be cleaned of debris after every race. Other events of the evening included a trailer race, an appliance race (where coolers and ovens got strapped to the roof of each car) and a log truck car toss. All these events provided the crowd with much excitement for the entire evening. With many more events to come this summer, I highly recommend an evening at the PGARA Speedway.
