As part of the celebration of the one-year countdown festivities
for Vancouver 2010 Winter Games, I joined
Active Communities Vancouver Step Out Walk that explores the changing
skyline around Southeast False Creek and the Olympic and Paralympic
Village. During the beautiful 3km walk around False Creek, I spoke
with Olympic Silver Medalist Karen Magnussen and Olympian Darcy
Marquardt and Sabrina Kolker! This is a fantastic family walk and you
can feel the Winter Games excitement in the air... so come on out and
step it up!

This was the highlight of my trip, dog sledding!
I was picked up from my hotel a driven a short way to meet the team, all thirty-plus Huskies. Located just outside of Kimberley Mountain Resort is Adrenaline Dog Tours. The great thing about this outfit is they teach you how to harness and hook up the dogs. But the best part is, they let you drive!

Panorama Mountain Village, Attractions
After a recommendation from one of the locals, I decide to take a lesson on glass
bead making.
I had no idea how much fun this would be. The class is offered right at the base of Panorama
Mountain resort and is definitely worth trying.
Once people understand the technique, they are
encouraged to rent the torches the following day to hone their newly
acquired skills.

I decided to take a guided snowmobile tour ten minutes outside of Panorama Mountain.
After a brief safety meeting and a short obstacle course, we started the ride up to a bowl full of fresh powder.
If you feel like you have enough energy, ask one of the guides to take you to the completely frozen waterfall. As you will see in the video, it's worth the hike.
