Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests...and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs.

This is absolutely the best way to check out the rest of the valley and the incredible views around the Big White Ski Resort.  It takes about 5 minutes to learn how to ride the snowmobiles, and then you're off.  Hang on tight though, its a bumpy ride!

The skiing is great at Big White, but if you need a break or you want to try something a little easier for the whole family then you definitely have to try "tubing". All you have to do is grab an inner tube, get hitched up to the lift for a ride to the top and then hang on as you spin your way back down the hill.  There's even a fire pit with hot chocolate nearby!

I spent the day skiing up at the Apex Ski Resort and wanted to check out the Apres Ski scene. I was told there were a few different options available but the classic place to go was the Gunbarrel Saloon.  There was a fun crowd, great music, food and drinks! In the restaurant area they were serving these crazy coffee drinks which were set on fire down the barrel of an old shotgun! The staff were great, the atmosphere was fun and there was even this crazy game where you hammer nails into a stump of wood.  Definitely worth checking out!

The Apex Ski Resort is up near Penticton and is a great ski hill.  First, the snow is great, and there are tons of wild runs of every level, but best of all, there are virtually no line-ups for the lifts so you can get in as many runs as you would like.  I asked one of the liftees to recommend a classic Apex run and gave it a try.

I arrived at the Apex Ski resort a little too late in the day to get some skiing in so I looked around for another activity to do.  Someone recommended that I try out the outdoor skating loop that goes through the trees, skate rentals were even available.  I gave it a try and it was great! Lots of fun!

I went up to the Apex Ski Resort to check it out and find out what make it unique.  Turns out that Apex has a great little village area and a really relaxed atmosphere, everyone was really friendly.  There's also tons to do at Apex if you want a break from skiing, or its just too late in the day to get started.

Opening Day of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola was Friday, December 12.  The gondola sets all sorts of world records as it travels from the top of Whistler Mountain over to Blackcomb.  I took a ride on opening day and shot this video of the event.

I managed to get a Media Pass to the opening of the Peak 2 Peak Gondola in Whistler so I shot this footage of the ceremonies and some of the people that were up there on that snowy day on top of the mountain!

Moving north on the east side of Vancouver Island, we come across the rain as we enter the Horne Lake Caves. Continuing on to Tiger Lilly Farm for some horseback riding, we then finish with a rain forest walk around Cathedral Grove in McMillan Park.

Just off the Malahat highway, we hook up with local tour guide/owner Kurt from Legend Excursions. He takes us on an adventure experiencing local Vancouver Island glass blowing at GBS, Venturi-Schulze Vineyards & Farm Winery and the Pacific Northwest Raptures flying demo.
