Soar hundreds of feet above the valley floor and whiz past old-growth forests...and then tell the world about it! Ziplining in Whistler is just one activity to share on Hellobc.com/blogs.

I have bicycled in Canada on five different occasions and lovedit every time. My last trip was from Vancouver to Calgary. We loved the scenery and found the Canadian poeple warm and welcoming. The roads and drivers were excellent too. I am returning this summer to bicycle from Calgary again!

If you are in Victoria and don't go on a Whale Watching tour, you don't know what you are missing.

Every time we go to Victoria, we go on a Prince of Wales Whale Watching tour and have never been let down-we see whales every time.

The last time we were out there, the guide took us to the east side of Vancouver Island as that is where the recent sightings had been. Our zodiac was pointed east towards the island when I looked to my right and saw a HUGE dorsal fin coming towards us. I motioned to our guide who requested that we hang on the hand rails as the whale was coming in our direction-from the side! He then requested we hang on with both hands as the whale got closer to us. Just then the whale submerged and went right underneath us!!!!  It was the most exhilerating feeling in the world knowing this massive mammal was right beneath us. The whale surfaced not more than 15 feet from the left side of the boat where I was sitting! He was so close I felt like I could reach out and touch him-what a magnificent sight! I have never been that close to a whale before but look forward to going there again to see these magnificent mammals!

2 places I went to in Sept 2006 will always stay in my mind. Bear Ridge Cabins just outside of Nakusp and the Halcyon Hot Springs north of Nakusp.

The view from the hot springs was breath taking to say the least. The view of Arrow Lake from the pool deck was magnificent, the hot springs unsurpassed and the extra special treatment I received during my facial and massage were excellent.

Bear Ridge Cabins were delightful! Cozy, comfortable, affordable and the owners Martin and Judith went beyond the call to make my stay memorable.

I would highly recommend a stay at Bear Ridge and a soak at Halcyon Hot Springs. I will be going there again in the near future.

Chambar may be more popular, but there is another Belgium-themed restaurant in Vancouver - Stella's on Commercial Drive. As much as I love going to Chambar (and I DO love going there) sometimes I crave the less formal atmosphere of Stella's.

Don't get me wrong, Stella's is every bit as good a dining experience as Chambar - the food's great and so are the beers - but the mood is just bit lighter.

Last time I was at Stella's was in the evening. I'd never been here in the evening before; it's a huge, happening singles scene! I likely dampened the mood carrying my 14-month old son through the crowd, but I have to start teaching him how to cruise a room some day, so I might as well start early.

For the best eggs, bacon and abuse with a conscience visit the Elbow Room, 560 Granville Street, Vancouver.

Fantastic value, great fun and enormous portions.

Only those with attitude and a sense of humour should apply.

This is my absolute favourite lunch deli. A bright, spacious room with a relaxed atmosphere, cool jazz, and oh... did I mention the delicious bagels.

Best bagels in Vancouver, hands down! Some people get all twisted up over Montreal style vs. New York style bagels (these are NY style), but I just go for the ones that taste the best.

Thick, chewy and full of doughy flavour, take one bite and you'll be a convert. The menu is rounded out with homemade soups, sandwiches and other bakery items.

Good food, generous portions and reasonable prices, what more could you want in a deli? Mmmmm... I'm getting hungry all over again.

One of the most special places in BC has be the West Coast Trail. The experience of hiking for a week long over beaches and through the rain forest on the west coast of Vancouver island is something I'll never forget.
