This high altitude campground is located in a predominately sub-alpine spruce forest with beautiful mountain vistas. Marble Canyon Campground makes an excellent base camp to access the network of trails that serve the north end of Kootenay National Park as well as the Castle Junction and Lake Louise areas of Banff National Park and the eastern portion of Yoho National Park. McLeod Meadows Campground occupies a quiet, wooded area on the bank of the Kootenay River with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. The open grasslands of the meadows & the nearby river makes ideal habitat for wildlife viewing. In the early summer, the orchids bloom in the nearby meadows. The nearby Dog Lake trail provides opportunity for a gentle afternoon hike to a peaceful lake. A National Parks entry pass is required. Taxes included in rates. Kootenay National Park's largest campground, Redstreak is located 2 km above Radium Hot Springs on a sunny plateau. Close to the village & all it has to offer - golfing, shopping, restaurants - Redstreak is an ideal destination for families & couples looking for a variety of services while enjoying the outdoors. Ten new tent-cabins known as oTENTiks are available for rent. A network of trails connect the campground to the village, hot springs & the Redstreak Restoration Project. The Redstreak Restoration Project is restoring the grassland/open forest ecosystems & maintaining the Bighorn winter range. A National Parks entry pass required. Taxes included in rates. Each has a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, satellite TV with VCR &/or DVD, a queen bed, bathroom with a shower & a propane BBQ on the deck. 4 of our cabins have either full kitchens or kitchenettes with 2 burner hot plates, bar fridges, pots, pans, dishes etc & a wood-burning fireplace. The cabins accommodate from 2-6 people. Large inner yard with trampoline & firepit. Small store on site, with pop, water, chips, assorted amenities. Great prices.
