Located in a dry sunny area of the province, this park preserves an example of Interior Douglas fir & Ponderosa pine forest & grassland habitat. Reservable campsites with electrical hookups, drinking water, flush & pit toilets, showers & sani-station. Also includes a day use area, fire rings & playground. Activities include hiking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boat launch, fishing & biking. Visitors are asked to only enjoy viewing the painted turtles. Because the survival rate of these turtles is low, it is crucial that they be protected in the park & treated with respect by visitors.

Kootenay National Park's largest campground, Redstreak is located 2 km above Radium Hot Springs on a sunny plateau. Close to the village & all it has to offer - golfing, shopping, restaurants - Redstreak is an ideal destination for families & couples looking for a variety of services while enjoying the outdoors. Ten new tent-cabins known as oTENTiks are available for rent. A network of trails connect the campground to the village, hot springs & the Redstreak Restoration Project. The Redstreak Restoration Project is restoring the grassland/open forest ecosystems & maintaining the Bighorn winter range. A National Parks entry pass required. Taxes included in rates.
