Illecillewaet Campground is set in a cedar/hemlock rainforest, alongside a roaring stream just freshly melted from the glaciers. Illecillewaet is located close to the ghostly remains of Canada's first grand mountain resort hotel. Nine hiking trails radiate out from the campground, heading towards the toe of the glacier, leading up to icefield viewpoints, or accessing the classic climbing routes of the Sir Donald Range. Illecillewaet has 60 campsites with 5 sites accommodating very large Class A motorhomes. The campground has flush toilet washroom buildings, a log kitchen shelter & food lockers for cyclists. Rustic Loop Brook Campground is encircled by the historic 1885 Rogers Pass rail line trail. Today, the abandoned rails offer a great short interpretive hike, with trail connections to the Illecillewaet hiking area.
