Glass artwork (Danielle Hayes photo)
A large proportion of talented artists live in and around the small community of Atlin. Check out the works of creative locals at the Atlin Courthouse Gallery, the Taku River Tlingit Center for Culture, or private artist studios.
Atlin Courthouse Gallery
Downtown, on Pearl Street, sits the community's beautifully restored 1900 courthouse, now home of the Atlin Courthouse Gallery. The gallery features work from a pool of diverse and experienced Atlin artists including painters, carvers, quilters, goldsmiths, photographers, and more.
Many of the artists display and sell their pieces worldwide. The work of one of Northern British Columbia's most famous carvers Maureen Morris, known for the masterpieces she carves out of local materials such as moose antlers, is displayed in the gallery. The Atlin Courthouse Gallery is open from May to September.
