Cross-Country Skiing
Cross-Country skiing (Dave Heath photo)
Apex Mountain Resort's location on the Thompson Plateau ensures excellent terrain for cross-country skiers and snowshoers.
While the resort does not maintain its own Nordic trails, facilities are available 6km/3.7mi west at Nickel Plate Cross-Country Ski Club.
Early Season Cross-Country Skiing
Early snow means a quick start to the season. At 1,850m/6,070ft elevation trails are usually clear of valley cloud – sunny and bright. Moderate average temperatures (-4°C/25°F), excellent grooming and beautiful scenery make it a memorable experience for everyone from novice to expert.
Trail Network
Classic and skate skiers glide through the forest, cross open meadows and climb to panoramic lookouts on 56km/35mi of groomed trails. This venue is ideal for families and beginners with 70% of trails rated easy and another 20% intermediate. Fido is even welcome on the K-9 trail to the shores of Nickel Plate Lake.
