Prince of Whales Whale Watching has been sharing premiere whale-watching and marine-wildlife experiences with the world for over 20 years! With year-round departures from Vancouver and Victoria, we have welcomed more than 250,000 guests to our local waters. Our floating classrooms provide an educational platform for guests interested in observing and learning about the unique behaviours of marine wildlife in their natural habitats.

Tours range from three and a half hours to longer full and half-day tours with optional VIP entrance to the The Butchart Gardens via their private dock in Butchart Cove. Join us daily from late May through late September as we embark on afternoon whale watching adventures from downtown Victoria through the Gulf and San Juan Islands on route to downtown Vancouver.

Please note:  Zodiac Whale Watching Adventures operate every day, on demand, throughout the year. Ocean Magic Whale Watching Adventures operate April 1 - October 31 Whale Watching connections to Vancouver and packages including The Butchart Gardens operate late May through late September.

Policies & Restrictions

Cancellation Policy
All reservations are subject to a 24 hour cancellation period inside which all changes and cancellations are non-refundable.
Group Policy
All group reservations are subject to a 48 hour cancellation period inside which all changes and cancellations are non-refundable.
Age Restrictions
Children looking to travel on a Zodiac Whale Watching Adventure tour must be at least seven years of age.
Clothing Gear Required
Please come prepared for cool weather. Dress in layers. It is always colder on the water than one might expect. Trip temperatures are typically 10 degrees Celsius or 18 degree Fahrenheit cooler than the temperature on land. Recommended clothing items include long pants, close toed shoes, a sweat shirt or fleece, and a jacket to break the wind. Guests are also advised to bring sunglasses as the help to shield the eyes when travelling at high speeds.
Height Restrictions
Guests looking to travel on a Zodiac Whale Watching Adventure must be at least 40 inches tall.
Mobility Restrictions
Persons with mobility restrictions are welcome to join our tours; however, mobility aids must be stowed away or stored in our office prior to each departure. There is no wheelchair access. In the case of serious physical disability, it will be up to the discretion of the captain based on safety. Please contact our office for more information.
