Journey to the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest to view & photograph grizzly bears. The floating Great Bear Lodge, with a maximum of 10 guests, is the perfect place to enjoy the wildlife & wilderness of British Columbia. Experienced biologists lead the twice-daily bear-viewing sessions & activities such as interpretive hikes & boat excursions. Tours begin in Port Hardy, on northern Vancouver Island, with a spectacular seaplane flight to the Great Bear Lodge. How to Get Here

Tours depart at 3pm from Port Hardy, located on the northern end of Vancouver Island. Tours depart from the Seaplane Base at 6420 Hardy Bay Road.

121 days or more before tour: full refund less $100 per person. 61-120 days: 50% refund. 60 days or less: no refund.
Group Policy
Small groups (up to 10 people) are welcome.
Age Restrictions
Suggested minimum age of 15 yrs.
Clothing Gear Required
We provide insulated coveralls for warmth and complete rain gear and rain boots, if needed.
Mobility Restrictions
You will be able to participate in most activities if you can walk 100 m.
Weight Restriction
Luggage for float plane is limited to 30 lbs (14 kgs) per person. Exceptions are made for photography equipment. Excess luggage can be stored at our secure office in Port Hardy.
