When I was a kid growing up in a big city I was fortunate enough to have neighbours who had berry bushes in their backyard. This time of year I would feast on these as far as my scrony little arms could reach through the fence. This weekend this was not the case. Had some friends visiting and fruit picking was on the order bill. Let me tell you that the little kid in me was thrilled going up and down the rows of raspberry bushes unfettered plucking ripe berries, a few to the bucket and one for the tummy :D At the end of it all I ended up with 4 times more then what I would dare buy  at a store for what cost me a few bucks and reliving some great childhood memories. I see lots of fresh raspberries in my cereal, salads and anything else I can think off.

If you are in Kelowna and looking to pick fresh fruit, my friends and I just dropped in at the Visitor Centre  on the day @ 544 Harvey Ave and the staff there took care of us and pointed us in the right direction.

For an idea of what you can pick when you are here check out the blossom and harvest page.
